My parents, first-generation immigrants, taught my sister and me that with a quality education and hard work, anything is possible.

As an Anaheim educator for over 25 years, I am passionate about ensuring that students have the educational opportunities that I received. My work as principal required that I make decisions based on the needs of students with teacher and parent input. That dedication to students, as instructional assistant, teacher, and principal, also allowed me to advocate for families on the City of Anaheim Library Board of Trustees as its vice chair, and currently as a member of the Community Services Board. My doctoral research focused on the contributions of parents and the impact on the educational outcomes of their children.

 

With major shifts in the academic standards taught in our classrooms and how they are funded, families need someone who will advocate for students, teachers, and staff, while keeping a focus on improving student achievement. Parents and former students support my candidacy for the Anaheim Union High School District Board of Trustees.
